Customizable Video Playback Quality Options

Enable users to select playback quality options (e.g., 480p, 720p, 1080p, and original) within resource videos, similar to YouTube and other video players. This feature should complement the existing ability to upload multiple videos under one resource, allowing for different permission settings. The primary goal is to provide multiple quality options while managing access to both watermarked and unwatermarked versions of videos.

    One issue with this enhancement is the potential impact on the current pricing model, where storage is included in the subscription price. This feature could increase Aviary’s service costs in a few ways:

    1. Once this option exists, some customers may wish to have Aviary transcode to create these different quality option copies. This will add service cost to Aviary.

    2. Once this option exists, there will be good reason for customers to store multiple quality version copies of each media file (more than now) increasing the Aviary storage service costs.

      Thank you for your feedback. That makes sense, and in this case, keeping costs low is a higher priority for us than having the function. Please go ahead and remove the request from our side.
